an 8-day retreat that will be held in the Constantia Valley, Cape Town’s Wine Vineyard.
This year’s retreat theme is Uvuko, which means resurrection in Xhosa. I believe that many women bury parts of themselves in order to survive or assimilate. These buried parts are integral parts of our personality. Therefore, we need them in order to be fully present and alive. Ladies, this retreat was designed specifically for women who are ready to experience more freedom, power, authenticity, and love in their lives. Through multi-cultural, multi-generational exchange women can nurture and encourage ourselves to THRIVE in our womanhood.
This retreat is an opportunity for you to nurture your soul, your inner-self. The part of you that you brush past while trying to keep up with the demands of everyday life. This retreat is all about you!

I’m Mable Taplin RN, Chief Encouragement Officer at DiscovHer Life LLC.
Since January 2016, I have traveled solo to 36 countries, 42 cities on 6 continents. When I started my journey, I was depressed, anxious, confused and quite frankly wounded. So I decided to give myself permission to take time to nurture my soul and travel to places unfamiliar to me.
Along my journey, I met some phenomenal women who shared some of the same concerns and issues that I had regarding womanhood, motherhood and career. But what I noticed is their responses were shaped by their culture and belief systems. In these casual conversations, I was nurtured and given advice in ways that I would not have typically heard before.
After several of these conversations, I realized that women need nurturing! We are so busy giving and nurturing everyone else’s dreams, goals and ambitions that we forget how to nurture and love ourselves. It is in this lack of nurturing that depression, anxiety, sadness and disease begins to grow.
My journey helped me to reach a profound level of joy and contentment. Therefore, I have opened myself up to live my purpose, which is to encourage and inspire women all over the world to do whatever it takes to create their own unique path to freedom, passion and purpose. That’s why I am organizing this retreat, because I want women to experience the power, encouragement and joy that I’ve experience.
I am inviting women from all over the world to experience a safe space for us to have authentic and encouraging conversations about womanhood, motherhood and career.

The Alphen Boutique Hotel is a 5 star luxury hotel based in Constantia, Cape Town, South Africa. The Alphen epitomizes elegance, history and flair. Built in the 17th century, the hotel is spread across 11.5 acres of wonderland gardens and offers 5 star accommodation like no other, with 19 indulgent avant-garde luxury suites, complete with modern amenities, plush comforts and high-tech facilities with exceptional services. Your stay in this magnificent treasure is sure to leave a lasting feeling of rejuvenation and relaxation.
Located just 15km from the Cape Town’s city center and local beaches, Constantia Valley is noted for its wine routes and culinary wonders. There are three unique hospitality venues located on the grounds of the Alphen, LaBelle Bistro & Bakery, The Rose Bar outdoor garden and lounge and Blanko Restaurant. When dining at any of the three restaurants, guests are sure to experience dynamic flavours and authentic Western Cape cuisine.
Closest Airport: Cape Town International Airport (CPT) is 45 minutes from The Alphen Hotel
Airport Transportation: If you would like to reserve your seat on our complimentary airport shuttle from Cape Town International Airport, your flight should arrive at CPT before 3 p.m. on Thursday May 3rd. Your departure Flight should depart no earlier than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday May 10th in order to take advantage of the shuttle. Seats are on a first come first serve basis. Only sign up once you have booked your flight. You will be required to provide proof of flight purchase in order to reserve your seat. Please note that if you miss your flight or change your flight to arrive or depart outside of the stated guidelines, you will not be eligible for the free shuttle. Transportation will be your responsibility.

Dress Code: It will be late summer early fall in Cape Town in May, Temperatures are in the high 60’s to low 70’s Fahrenheit in the daytime and low 60’s at night. It is recommended that you dress casual. You may want to bring a more casual chic dress or pants for the High Tea and Cupcakes and Cocktails Events. Bring comfortable walking shoes and a light jacket.

During my travels, I asked women to share quotes and stories about womanhood that they heard from the influential women in their lives. The quotes and stories that they shared had a profound impact on my own healing and my journey to wholeness and freedom. The quotes were so impactful that I developed an inspirational guide and journal featuring quotes and stories from many of these women. This workshop will guide you through discussions surrounding select quotes from the Words of Wisdom from Women Around The World inspirational guide and journey. You will be provided your personal copy autographed by me.

Discover the splendour of the Constantia Valley and its wines from a privileged perspective. A private tour of three wine vineyards allows you to venture into unexplored parts of the Constantia Wine Estates and their cellars. The famous Twelve Apostles hotel is known for its luxury and decadence. Perched on the lower slopes of Table Mountain at the edge of a protected marine reserve, the boutique property spoils those looking for a lavish experience with an unrivalled vista of the sparkling Atlantic Ocean. Guest will enjoy high tea in the Leopard bar while overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. High tea comes littered with traditional light bites, like dainty finger sandwiches, delicate pastries and freshly baked scones, as well as a regularly changing selection of the kitchen team’s creative inventions (think orange-scented cupcakes dipped in ganache, red macaroons with chocolate filling and strawberry mousse).

Cost of this life-changing retreat is USD $3,897 or 5 payments of $867.

What is the last date that applications will be accepted? October 31, 2017 at midnight.
Is my slot secure once I am selected? Your slot is secure after you pay your deposit by the due date. Your deposit is due 14 days after you receive your acceptance email. If your deposit is not received by the due date, your slot will be offered to someone on the waiting list.
When is the application going to be available? September 8, 2017.
What is the Refund policy? All Retreat deposits are non-refundable. If you pay for your trip in full, you are entitled to 80% of the retreat fee minus the deposit.YoIf If you are on the payment plan, you are entitled to 50% of what you have paid minus the deposit. All requests for refunds must be made by February 15, 2017. There will be no refunds after February 15, 2017. Please allow 30 days for processing refunds.
What are the retreat dates? May 3-10, 2018
Can I apply with a friend? Sure, anyone can apply for the retreat. If you refer a friend, please have them list your name on their application.
Do I need shots/vaccinations to come to Cape Town? This depends on your country of origin. We recommend that you consult your local physician or go to a travel clinic to determine if you need vaccinations. If you are traveling from the United States, you may visit www.cdc.gov for information on vaccinations.
