“I’m asking these questions, because I answered yes to all of these questions at some point in my life. But I did not feel comfortable admitting the answers to myself, let alone someone else. I did not want to seem ungrateful for the life that I had, because to many people I had it all. I had a “dream job”, beautiful home, loving friends and family. However, I could feel in my soul that there was something else that I was called to do. My soul yearned to inspire and empower women and girls around the world to live their dreams.”

It wasn’t until I was honest with myself about what I really wanted did my life start to change. My Aha moment was when I realized that I had to invest and commit to prioritizing my happiness and contentment. I had to take care of me first. That one decision, led me to changing how I spent my money and how I invested my time. I don’t have to tell you that you can always make more money, but you can’t get more time. Time is your most valuable commodity.

 

I invested my time and money in therapy and coaching. It was one of the best things that I could have done for myself. As a result, I started a nonprofit, Joanie Girls Heart, that mentors young girls, and I started DiscovHer Life LLC. Both of these organizations are formal vehicles for me to live out my calling. One decision put me on a path that changed the trajectory of my life. I am living my calling. I am living my dreams of inspiring and empowering women all over the world. In 2016, I traveled solo to 30 countries on 6 continents. I have met and inspired many women along the way. My heart and soul are full of joy.

 

I want the same for you. I want you to live out your calling. I want you to see your idea or dream become reality. I want to support you in being who you want to be and have what you want to have. Your happiness and contentment starts with making a decision to invest in yourself. I give you permission to invest in yourself and your happiness.

But I need you to do your part. I need you to say yes to yourself. I need you to invest your time in building your dream life. I need you to commit to identifying and removing the limiting beliefs that are standing in the way of your greatness. I believe that every woman has the capacity to live out her dreams and discovHer the life that she was created to live!

 

I have been coaching women for many years. My academic training as a Registered Nurse with both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Nursing Science provided me with the theoretical framework that allows me to view my clients with a holistic approach. I also hold a certificate in Project Management. While my academic preparation is impressive, I believe that my life experiences provided me the space to mature both mentally and spiritually. From loosing my mother to Breast Cancer at a young age, overcoming thoughts of suicide, struggling with low self esteem, relationship issues, managing people’s expectations, career confusion and managing my health, I have a PhD in LIVING. My mother use to tell me when I was a young girl “The best lesson is a bought lesson! But baby, you don’t have to buy all of them! Some of em’ you can learn from watching.
